What should I pay attention to when installing flange butterfly valve?
1. Direction and location
Butterfly valves generally do not have direction requirements. If there are requirements, they should be correctly identified according to the working principle of the butterfly valve. On horizontal pipes, the direction of the valve stem can be determined in the following order: vertically upward, horizontally, and 45° upward; vertical downward is not allowed. The valve installation position must be convenient for operation; even if temporary installation is difficult, the long-term work of the operator must be considered. The valve handwheel is best located at chest level (generally 1.2 meters from the operating ground), so that it is easier to open and close the valve. The handwheel of the floor-standing valve should be facing upward and not tilted. The valve of the wall-mounted equipment should also leave space for the operator to stand. Do not raise your head when operating, especially for acids, alkalis, toxic media, etc., otherwise it is very unsafe.
2. Construction
1. Be careful during installation to avoid hitting the butterfly valve.
2. Before installation, check whether the valve is of the correct specification and model and whether it is damaged. In particular, the valve stem should be rotated several times to check whether it is skewed. It is also necessary to remove debris inside the valve.
3. When lifting the valve, do not tie the rope to the handwheel or valve stem to avoid damaging these parts. Tie it to the flange instead.
